Within a Custom Course, there are multiple Course Section types to choose from. This article will explain those differences and how they should be used.
Once you’ve built the first portion of your Custom Course as explained HERE , and your changes have been saved, you’ll notice another tab appear which is labeled SECTIONS.
Upon clicking to create a section, you’ll scroll to see the option ‘course section type’. This is the area we are going to explain to you so you know exactly what to select.
Downloads: The first option available is the "Downloads" course section type. This section type will prompt the user to physically download whatever file you attach to this section. This is beneficial to select when the user needs to print out the file for review or future reference.
Embedded Video: Using this section type will allow you to place an embedded video code from any shareable source such as codes you’ve received from us here at Atlantic Training or a 3rd party such as YouTube or Vimeo.
Questions: If you have built out any custom questions and need to add them to your custom course you will need to set the section to the "Questions" type. Once the "Questions" section type is selected you will be able to search for your custom question by either scrolling through the list or typing in the name of the question.
Quiz: If you have built out any custom quizzes and need to add them to your custom course you will need to set the section to the "Quiz" type. Once the "Quiz" section type is selected you will be able to search for your custom quiz by either scrolling through the list or typing in the name of the quiz. If you would like to use more than once quiz you are able to add up to 3 quizes per section.
Text: This is the simplest section type as it only contains what you place within the ‘content’ box within this section. Please note that you can’t add in pictures, videos etc but you are able to include URL’s that the user can click on.
Toolbox: The toolbox section type has the ability to pull in from hundreds of free resources we have loaded into the system for you to use. You’re able to choose from types such as: checklists, illustrations, safety data sheets and more when this is selected.
Uploads: This section will allow your user to fully see whatever file you’ve chosen for this section without having to physically download the file to their device. This section is the complete opposite of the downloads section explained above and is the most recommended for ease of use on the learners end.
